Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of how I could tag/copy Right my photos with more style...than simply writting my name in the middle. I find that it kind of ruins it..but at the same time, I don't have a choice to do so.

I would really appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks;p

placing a borer around an image with your name & copyright symbol and date is a good start but it still leaves your image wide open to be ripped off. If you're good at photoshop and have a little bit of design skills, you're best bet is to create your own watermark symbol with some sort of design element. You see, you just want to make it more difficult for ppl to outright rip off your image without at least some sort of effort... and if they do manage to edit out the watermark, then the image will be flawed and not of the greatest quality.

If you're not the best at illustration, I would try and find a fairly basic B&W image of yours that you like, turn it into a duo tone so you can turn it into a logo, and then add you're name. Drop down the opacity and place it on another layer over your image in an area that won't be so distracting from the image... but remember that you want it still big enough so ppl can't rip off your image.

Personally I'm lazy so I just use DA's watermark image... but neither is it classy nor is it flattering to the image :(

Hey you!;)

Thank you so much for the advice! I really appreciate it!I am not to familar with photoshop..but I think that it would be a good idea to look into it. So on my last pic I added a border and simply my name with a copy right... I guess it will have to do for now.^^)

yeah, its always a dilemma on how to protect your work and whether or not to even bother. There will always be someone who might try and steal your work but at the same time by simply putting your name and the copyright symbol some place on the image sometimes helps deter people. Its the gritty side of the art world

Yeah that’s very true!
I had some previous issues with having my work stolen. I also had a person calming to be me by posting pictures of myself. That gave me the creeps so that was part of the reason why I had decided to remove all my pics. However, after much thought I figure if I didn't post images of myself as well as placed some formed of copy right on my pictures, perhaps it would be harder to use them. I was and still am quite surprise that my friend found that some of my pictures were being exposed. I am not putting myself down, but there are way better artist out there with a terrific photographs of superior quality. Anyways, I guess what does not kill you, makes you stronger... so I grew from that experience.;)
But I see your point regarding the dilemma on protecting our work for with the tech. that we have today anything is possible.

^^)Cheers
